Benelli’s innovative steel locking mechanism prevents wear and tear on the receiver and hinge, issues that commonly affect traditional Over/Under shotguns. At the core of this Steel Locking System is a sturdy steel breech block that directly secures to the monoblock, effectively containing the pressure from shotshells and safeguarding against damage to the receiver and hinge pins.

Unlike conventional Over/Under shotguns, the 828 U triggers reset upon unlocking the top lever, resulting in a smoother and more consistent opening action. Furthermore, the ejector system within the 828 U is integrated into the barrel, enhancing the strength and sleekness of the receiver by eliminating linkages between the trigger group and forend.

The 828 U’s walnut stock incorporates the Progressive Comfort System, as illustrated in the accompanying images. This system features flexible polymer buffers that compress to absorb recoil, with more buffers engaging as shot loads increase, providing enhanced recoil absorption and cushioning.
